Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I use puff pastry instead of crescent rolls?
Yes. Cut puff pastry into squares and bake for 18–22 minutes at 200°C until puffed and golden.

Q: Can I remove the Brie rind?
Yes. The rind is edible, but you can trim it off if you prefer a milder texture.

Q: What other cheeses work well?
Camembert, mozzarella, Gouda, Havarti, or cream cheese.

Q: Can I make these ahead of time?
Yes. Assemble up to 24 hours in advance, refrigerate, and bake just before serving.

Q: Can I freeze them before baking?
Yes. Freeze on a tray until solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. Bake from frozen, adding about 3–5 extra minutes.

Q: Why did the cheese leak out?
This usually happens if the rolls aren’t sealed well, are overfilled, or become too warm before baking.

Q: Can I make them savoury instead of sweet?
Absolutely. Replace the jam with pesto, caramelised onions, or a small spoonful of chutney.

Q: What jam works best?
Strawberry, raspberry, cherry, blackberry, fig, and cranberry all pair well with Brie.

These flaky, gooey bites are ideal as an appetiser, festive snack, or quick party food, with just three main ingredients and minimal preparation.
