 Total Time

30–35 minutes

 Ingredients

  • 12 slices bacon, thin or regular cut
  • 8 oz (225 g) mozzarella cheese, cut into 12 thick cubes
  • 2 tbsp honey

 Instructions

1. Prepare the cheese

Cut the mozzarella into 12 bite-sized cubes.

2. Wrap with bacon

Take one bacon slice and wrap it tightly around each cheese cube.

Place the wrapped bites seam-side down on a foil-lined baking sheet or in a baking dish.

3. Add honey

Lightly drizzle or brush the bacon with honey.

4. Bake

Bake at 400°F (200°C) for approximately 20–25 minutes, until the bacon is deeply browned and crisp and the cheese is melted.

For extra crispiness, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end while watching carefully.

5. Rest & serve

Let them rest for 3–5 minutes before serving. The cheese will be extremely hot when they first come out.

🔥 Air Fryer Method

Place the bacon-wrapped cheese bites in a single layer in the air fryer.

Cook at 375°F (190°C) for 10–14 minutes, checking toward the end until the bacon is crisp.

💡 Tips

  • Use low-moisture mozzarella so the cheese doesn’t melt away too quickly.
  • Thin-cut bacon wraps more easily and becomes extra crispy.
  • Don’t overcrowd the pan.
  • Refrigerating the wrapped bites for 10–15 minutes before baking helps the cheese stay inside while the bacon crisps.
  • For a sweeter finish, brush with a tiny amount of honey immediately after baking.

❓Q&A

Can I use cheddar?
Yes. Cheddar, Monterey Jack, or pepper Jack are delicious alternatives.

Can I skip the honey?
Yes, but then it becomes a 2-ingredient recipe. The honey adds a sweet contrast to the salty bacon.

Can I make these ahead?
Yes. Wrap the cheese in bacon, refrigerate, and bake shortly before serving.

Why did my cheese completely melt out?
The bites may have been too warm before baking, or the cheese may have been too soft. Chilling the wrapped bites before cooking helps.

Are these keto-friendly?
If you omit the honey and use bacon and cheese without added sugar or carb-heavy ingredients, they can fit a low-carb approach.
